KISMET AND KARMA
South Asian Women Artists Respond to Conflict
Between
Kismet and Karma is a multifaceted UK wide programme showcasing
the creative responses of South Asian women artists to environmental,
political and gender-based conflict. A central exhibition at Leeds
Art Gallery will feature eight trailblazing artists from Bangladesh,
India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and the programme further encompasses
a symposium, a film festival and four artist residencies.

Breathing Space
The
first project of its kind, and building on cultural links between
the North West of England and Pakistan, Araam highlights
the work of two exciting, contemporary UK artists, Halima Cassell
and Zarah Hussain, through residencies in Pakistan and the UK
and a unique exhibition.

BOLLYWOOD
STILLS
An
exhibition exploring the use of photo stills in Bollywood film
publicity. Working in partnership with Kranti Media, Kamat Foto
Flash (pioneers of the scene in Mumbai), Punch and The University
of Manchester.

& The Rusholme Project
Asia
Triennial Manchester is a dual programme of contemporary visual
art and craft from Asia incorporating a landmark exhibitions and
residency programme (ATM08) and the creation of new site-specific
public art in Rusholme.
